I know many travel agents are frustrated, I hear it all the time. They message me and say, “Brenda, I don’t know where to start” or “I know I’m not reaching the right clients but I don’t know what to do”. I get it; I was there once and made tons of costly mistakes.

Let me give you a few tips on how to start setting the right foundation for your business. Like any newly built home, your business needs to have a strong foundation. Branding is that foundation and it does not mean a logo alone.

Branding establishes what you stand for, who you are and what your customer can expect from you. It also establishes your marketing message and plan. Once you have your branding settled you will have no problem creating a marketing message and plan, it will be so much easier!

You have to know yourself and you have to know them intimately. You have to know more than just where they live and how much money they make. You have to know what they struggle with and what keeps them up at night. Once you know this information it will be easy to speak to them!

When they visit your website they should see nothing about you on the front page, that front page should be about them and how you are the RIGHT person to take care of their struggles. Think about it; if you were in their position and you found someone that can take care of all your worries wouldn’t you want to hire them right away? I know I would!
